Lucille LooseQ1. Why did you choose to become an artist? Did someone influence you?
A1. A personal friend is an artist and convinced me I should paint as I was very creative and artistic.

Q2. What does being and artist mean to you?
A2. You can bring out your artistic creations on paper about the beauty I see.

Q3. Do you remember your first drawing/painting?
A3. I still have my art booklet I did in Elementary school and looked at it a few years back and was proud of it.

Q4.If you could use your art to express something socially important to you, what would you do?
A4.When I paint with watercolors, its to show the colorful world around us and how beautiful God’s creation is.

Q5. Can you share your creative process with us? Ex: How do you a start painting? Do you plan your projects?
A5. As my first instructor taught me, you do a wash and add color for the background, let it dry and go from there. I take photos of my travels around the world and then when I’m home decide what to paint, and then may change a few things from the original picture.

Q6. How long have you been an artist?
A6. 7 years

Q7. What is your favorite subject to paint?
A7.I started with florals, but now I love trying a variety of subjects for painting.

Q8. Do you have a favorite style? (Realism, abstract…)?
A8. More realism than anything else

Q9. What is your medium? Why? Do you like to try different mediums or you are more conservative person?
A9.I started with Watercolor, was going to try acrylics but am enjoying watercolor and just haven’t found time to take course in acrylics, so am continuing with watercolors.

Q10.How do you see your future as an artist? What is your dream?
A10.This is a hobby of mine, started when I retired and will continue the same route.
