Burnaby Photographic Society
On the heels of their successful annual show at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in January, the Burnaby Photographic Society brings their talents to the Deer Lake Gallery. This exhibit features many of the Society’s members and demonstrates a wide variety of techniques and subject matter.
Founded in 1970 by a group of amateur photographic enthusiasts to broaden their knowledge, and encourage photography as an Art form, the Burnaby Photographic Society continues this philosophy today.
Over the years many of its members have continued onto careers in the photographic field. A non-profit society, as of summer of 2002 we have over 50 individuals holding membership and actively meeting to promote photography.
The Society is a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA) and the Burnaby Arts Council.
