Desert Gift by Shahla Majlessi

Shahla Majlessi was born in Esfhan, Iran and grew up and was educated in Tehran. Although Shahla began painting from an early age, she only painted seriously after graduating from a college in fashion design. Images of nature, especially flowers, are a common theme in Shahla's work. Her style is part realism and part abstract, with bold use of colour.

Shahla states "Nothing more than the green of nature and its flowers keeps me alive. I have always had a passion for flowers, which gives me the energy and enthusiasm to draw on paper and keep the moment alive forever!"

Shahla Majlessi has had a large number of joint exhibitions in Iran, France, and Greater Vancouver. She is a member of the North Vancouver Arts Council, the Burnaby Arts Council, the Burnaby Artist Guild, and the New Westminster Arts Council. Shahla Majlessi exhibited in the Deer Lake Gallery in November 2006.
