Are you passionate about the arts? Do you have experience leading organizations or projects? Can you commit 6-8 hours a month to to help encourage, support & expand the arts in Burnaby?

The board of directors of Burnaby Arts Council will have 5-7 board seats open for election in June 2018. Those members elected to the board will have opportunities to become intimately involved shaping the direction of the Arts in Burnaby!


About the position

Burnaby Arts Council (BAC) organization engages in a dynamic arts community in Burnaby. A not-for profit organization, celebrating 45 years of arts, events & services.  We develop, deliver and promote arts and cultural initiatives in partnership with the community.

As we look to the future with a new strategic plan we see both challenge and opportunity for a creative influence on the  cultural development of the City of Burnaby.

Directors Role
Board Members work with other directors and members to achieve the BAC mandate to Encourage, Support and Expand the Arts in the City of Burnaby.  As a Board Member for the term of 2 years, you will be required to attend monthly board meetings, join one BAC committee and be an active member in the Councils activities and events.

We are seeking dynamic professional(s) with a strong knowledge of and a passion for the arts.Track record of success within the cultural sector of the economy.

Skill Sets
Experience or skills in community engagement that include corporate sponsorship, fundraising and business development. We are looking for someone who will bring greater support from the business community.  Looking for self starters who have desire to make a difference in the community.  Connections in the business community is an asset.  Skill set in seeking grants and grant writing is an asset.
