Brief Summary of Annual Programming:

  • The Deer Lake Gallery: The BAC publicly solicits applications for its 10–12 exhibition opportunities each calendar year. Call for submissions occurs in the fall. The submission form is below.

 

  • Burnaby Summer Theatre: A juried group of SFU University theatre students write, direct and perform an original play free to audiences throughout the Lower Mainland; thus providing opportunities for all ages to experience live theatre in unexpected places. This special program has been ongoing for 25 +years.

 

  • Deer Lake Craft Festival: An annual juried craft market and festival, in its 43rd year, is held at the city’s beautiful Shadbolt Centre for the Arts (wheel chair accessible). Table rentals are open to all crafter/visual artists throughout the lower mainland area, and the event offers free parking and public admission.

    • Thank you for your interest in becoming an exhibiting artist at the Deer Lake Art Gallery! This application form should take approximately 15-20 minutes. We recommend that you review the information requested and prepare your documents in advance. You will not be able to save any information and return to the form later if you leave this page.

        • By submitting this form, you agree to the terms below: You represent and warrant that the work being submitted is the original product of your own creative efforts, and to the best of your knowledge does not infringe upon, or violate, any right, including the copyright, in any other artistic work or subject matter of any other person. If selected, you agree to have your artwork posted on the Burnaby Arts Council website and other media for publicity purposes. If selected, you shall agree to have your works printed or displayed digitally in the publication. You understand that submissions received without all of the items required and without the proper file naming format will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed by the adjudication committee. The BAC reserves the right to select artists and/or a group of artists that they think support the theme. The BAC does not offer an artist fee for exhibitions at the Deer Lake Gallery, but artists have the opportunity to sell their works.
